How to Use Online CBT Techniques to Stop Anxiety Attacks

cbt for anxiety

Have you ever tried CBT for anxiety to eliminate your anxiety disorder?

In other words, have you ever tried controlling your mind instead of it controlling you?

Unlike medication for anxiety, cognitive behavioral therapy targets more than just the symptoms.

It gives you practical methods and tricks to completely exterminate anxious thoughts, anxiety and panic attacks – for good.

And it does all of that without the horrific side effects (and health hazards) of drugging yourself stupid.

CBT for anxiety can help you uncover the root causes of your worries and fears, show you how to calm down quickly, teach you how to think realistically and see the situation in new, non-frightening ways.

How Does CBT for Anxiety work?

Most of us are not aware of the fact that the way you think determines the way you feel.

If you are plagued with negative thoughts, you will also FEEL like hell.

But thoughts are just thoughts. They have nothing to do with “objective” reality.

How can CBT change that?

Simply put, it involves identifying negative thinking and replacing it with realistic and well-balanced thinking.

For example, CBT teaches how to quickly transform this terrorized thought:

anxiety.thought1

Into this:

aniety.thought2

If you change the way you think, you will change your entire life. This is the basic idea behind CBT for anxiety.

The Cognitive part is where you learn new methods and ways to change your same old habits and thinking patterns.

If you keep thinking and expecting the worst – you will continue to suffer.

The Behavioral part is where you actually put everything you learned into place in real-life situations.

Where and How to Start Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A CBT therapist is able to provide helpful information on your specific problem and will teach you all the tools you need to conquer your anxiety.

But:

You can also find information on your own through reputable sources at bookstores and online.

Here’s a short review for the 2 best-selling anxiety programs online, both teach you CBT techniques, both of them offer email support as well, so you don’t have to go through it alone.

Option #1 – the One Move Technique (Panic Away)

The Panic Away program will show you, among other things, the famous “One Move technique“.

The One Move Technique simply “moves” the activity from the “panicky” part of the brain to the purely logical part of the brain.

Basically, it consists of a series of exercises that retrain your brain in how it responds to the onset of a panic attack.

In Chapter 4, for example, you will learn how to apply this technique in various life situations like when you’re taking the train, plane or driving a car. It even has real case studies of people using them.

In Chapter 5, you learn other tips like how diet and exercise play a part in anxiety disorders, and how to adjust your diet until you claim victory over anxiety.

It also teaches you a distraction and Thought Field Therapy.

In Chapter 6, you will find information about all medications and other alternatives.

The information in the program pretty much explains nearly everything on coping, overcoming and completely curing your panic-attacks or anxiety. The price for it is like one session with a therapist and well worth it.

The best part of all, they have a risk-free 8-weeks money back guarantee. If the system doesn’t work for you, you can just ask for a refund.

Option#2 – the Linden Method

Charles Linden, the author of The Linden Method, is a former sufferer of anxiety, panic attacks and severe agoraphobia and depression (for 25 years!).

He has found in research that the Amygdala, an organ in the brain, is responsible for any anxiety and panic attack symptoms.

The unique aspect of this program is the 9-pillar section, which teaches you step by step  how to force the body’s own anxiety reduction mechanism to ‘cut in’…and  restart the anxiety reduction that should have happened minutes or even seconds, after your first experience of high anxiety.

This program costs less than Panic Away and offers a 12-month program of support and a 12-month money-back guarantee. Linden must be very confident about his home treatment plan!

After I turned 40, believe it or not, anxiety hit me like a freight train. I’m very outgoing, social and interactive with people. I love being actively involved in volunteering or activities. At different moments, mostly when I’m not feeling well, anxiety seems to kick in. I’ve had so many bad experiences with the medical profession. I do have a counselor and try reading and doing so many techniques to help but sometimes, it does tend to get the best of me. I always find other things to help focus on, even YouTube binaural beats are extremely helpful. When my heart is racing, I just try my best to find a way to tune it out and remember I will beat this. It’s so scary and Im ready to get extra advice. I just don’t want to end up having a heart attack. I love my life so much and have so much I still want to do, in life. My health is very important to me so if I need extra help then…I need to make sure to get it.

I went thru anxiety for several years, I took all kinds of medication at 1st, been then it got so bad I admitted myself into a hospital. I thought I was going crazy! Wouldn’t leave my house, was scared of something bad happening, didn’t want to do anything. I had to do something, I had small children at home & a husband that didn’t understand. My Dr. Suggested I go to a clinic that specialized in panicked & anxiety disorders. This class saved my life! They thought me different techniques to do to learn to overcome my fears. They winged me off all medication, and till this (20yrs later) day I still use these skills. Learning how to breath correctly helped me most of all. But I am on no medication at all! I honestly would have told you back then that I would take my pills forever! I feel great! I would not wish this on no one! To everyone that suffers from this disorder, do not give up! You can’t let it control you! You control it! Good luck all…
